"...I have thrown out all the silly nonsensical karate and tae kwon do forms which are designed to do nothing more than waste valuable training time in addition to creating a thin film of perspiration..." Ken Haugland. [edit] Belt Ranking System Belt ranks or degrees are not regarded as important. Belt ranking is not directly related to years on the discipline or philosophical views, but knowledge, wisdom and physical agility level are. Belt ranking starts as follows:
▪ White Belt,
▪ Brown Belt,
▪ Black Belt,
▪ Intermediate Black Belt,
▪ Master Black Belt,
▪ Grand Master Ken, states: "... all the belts that an average student must go through in the traditional (western) system are design to extract "tuition/test" money, and waste precious time more that educate them in the wonderful world of martial arts..." ; "... if you know the techniques and can use them when it counts then you get the belt..."
